The LM317 device is an adjustable 3-terminal positive voltage regulator capable of providing more than 1.5A of current in the output voltage range of 1.25V to 37V. It only requires two external resistors to set the output voltage. This device has a typical linear regulation of 0.01% and a typical load regulation of 0.1%. It includes current limit, thermal overload protection and safe working area protection functions.
