Clock signal device

NE555 (Timer IC) is an 8-pin time-base integrated circuit. NE555 is small in size, light in weight, stable and reliable, with a large operating power range, strong current supply capability at the output, high timing accuracy, good temperature stability, and low price. 555 is a very versatile and quite common timing IC. It only needs a few resistors and capacitors to generate pulse signals of various frequencies required by digital circuits.

Ground

TRIG

Start of timing input. TRIG < ½ CONT     sets output high and discharge open

OUT

High current timer output signal

RESET

Active low reset input forces output and     discharge low.

CONT

Controls comparator thresholds, Outputs     2/3 VCC, allows bypass capacitor connection

THRES

End of timing input. THRES > CONT sets     output low and discharge low

7

DISCH

Open collector output to discharge timing     capacitor

8

VCC

Input supply voltage, 4.5 V to 16 V.     (SE555 maximum is 18 V)
